Gina Jeneroux Spent More Than 30 Years Learning to See People. Now She’s on a Mission to Prove What They’re Worth.

Co-Founder & Chief Skills & Innovation Officer @ AETHEON | Skills Strategist | Award-Winning Leader | AI Specialist | Advisor | Corporate Trainer

Gina Jeneroux was just a teenager when she realized something profound. When a customer stepped into her bank branch to ask about a loan, a deposit, or an investment, that was rarely what they actually needed. Underneath, it was almost always something bigger. A hope. A dream. A heartbreak. A tough decision they were trying to make with confidence. She was just getting started in her career, and she already knew that human needs, motivations, and values cut deeper than what you can see on the surface.

That understanding turned into a career of more than 30 years spent learning how to see people clearly — first at one of North America’s largest banks, and now as Chief Skills & Innovation Officer and Co-Founder at AETHEON. Along the way, her passion became a mission to give every talented person, in every region and industry, a real chance to be seen for what they can do and what they have to offer.

From the Teller Window to the World Economic Forum

Gina spent her first decade in the frontline at BMO Financial Group, working in customer service and personal lending roles, the kinds of experiences easy to skip past on a resume and easy to underestimate from the outside. For her, they were the foundation for everything that came after. She watched customers navigating their lives at the counter, and she realized that employees wanted many of the same things: to be seen, supported, and to have a shot at something more.

That realization shaped her next 25 years in talent and learning, including five years as Chief Learning Officer, where she became a recognized voice on the future of work, learning and skills, and where she led her team to win more than 20 global awards. She brought a sense of purpose to a function many organizations treat as a cost center, introducing new design strategies and a disciplined, multi-tiered approach to measurement that connected learning investment directly to business impact.

“People sit in the expense column, but they are the only asset that grows with investment. If leaders can see that clearly, investment follows.”

Gina carried the same spark beyond BMO.

She became a founding member of the World Economic Forum SkillsLink Alliance, rallying behind the WEF’s commitment to reskill a billion people by 2030. She co-founded ORG AI alongside future AETHEON co-founders Marie Gill and Mark Wayman, an initiative built to help leaders bring a genuinely human lens to artificial intelligence.

A Mission Built on Stepping Stones

Gina co-founded AETHEON with Marie and Mark in early 2025. They came together to push the radical idea that most people are capable of far more than the systems around them can recognize. They come at this problem from different angles: Marie through community and human flourishing, Mark through product design and cutting-edge technology, and Gina through skills strategy and the measurement of value. Those lenses are exactly what equip them to imagine bolder solutions together.

At the heart of what AETHEON does is a three-part framework: Translate. Validate. Activate. The company brings together artificial intelligence, skills science, and human flourishing research to translate lived experiences into measurable, validated skills, giving people and organizations a more complete picture of potential than a resume or a credential alone could provide. Validated skills become the basis for real decisions: who to hire, how to grow people, where to invest, and which transitions to make possible.

Gina leads the strategy and design for AETHEON’s skills intelligence approach. She developed the company’s Skills Atlas™, a proprietary taxonomy and proficiency model, which defines hundreds of skills and what each looks like across five distinct levels of proficiency. This gives AETHEON a multi-dimensional view of skills from all aspects of a person’s work, school and life, including the rich skills earned through military service. The same rigor runs through the company’s Skills Explorer™ discovery engine, Skills Quest™ gamified validation platform and TalentOS™ career and job matching system.

“Listing a skill is a start, but proficiency is what makes it usable. Imagine if leaders could see the full depth and breadth of skills in their workforce as clearly as their financial position. Where strength is building. Where it is growing fastest. Where new investment could pay off the most. Now, they can.”

AETHEON built its AI-powered architecture from the ground up, with its ROI(Skills)™ and Human Capital Value models on top, giving leaders a direct line from validated skill insights to the business strategies, priorities and outcomes they’re already tracking.

The Story That Made It Personal

Recently, a story caught Gina’s attention. A military veteran was trying to find a civilian job after more than twenty years of service, and he was hitting a wall. His resume held a single line: Ordnance Technician, U.S. Navy. To him, it carried a career in leadership, technical mastery, and decisions made under real consequences. To every hiring system he touched, it read as nothing at all, and he was filtered out before a single person could even meet him.

Hundreds of thousands of service members leave the military each year carrying that same kind of invisible profile. The AETHEON team ran his military details through their platform, and surfaced more than 50 verified industry, leadership, and risk management skills, each at defined proficiency levels that aligned to civilian roles. He had not changed. The system around him finally caught up to who he is. For Gina, his story became proof that the people being overlooked were not the exception. They were the pattern she had been tracking for decades, now with clearer insights to act upon.

Beyond the Balance Sheet

Imagine what becomes possible once value is visible: real economic opportunity for individuals and organizations, and real momentum for the regions where they live, work, and build their futures.

Gina has the instincts of someone who learned early that the most valuable things about a person rarely show up on a form. Gina continues to explore ways to embrace skills as an enabler, redefine human capital as a measurable economic asset, advance brain skills and brain health skills as strategic imperatives, and help organizations build resilience against AI-driven workforce disruption.

More than 30 years after that first teller window, Gina is still asking the question that started it all, now at a larger scale: what would it take for every talented person to be truly seen? AETHEON is her answer, built one validated skill, one skills profile, and one opened door at a time.
