Lora Cecere is the founder of Supply Chain Insights. She started her professional journey as a student in chemical engineering at the University of Tennessee. She was one of the two women in the class, and according to her it was not easy. The chemical engineering degree was her second bachelor’s degree. She previously majored in dietetics, but after a brief stint in a hospital kitchen, she knew that she needed a career that would allow me to have more freedom to make an impact and work with people.
Lora's first job was as a co-op student at P&G’s Pringle manufacturing plant in Jackson, TN. She found the training to be insightful which focused on the manufacturing leadership and the high-performance team management. She loved opening the door of the factory and hearing the rhythm of the machinery that would welcome her to work.
Lora became an industry analyst first for Gartner, then AMR research and in 2012, she started her own company, Supply Chain Insights. As an analyst, her focus is on primary research. She writes for business leaders—books, blogs, and articles for Forbes. Her writing is followed by over 325,000 business leaders globally. She feels fortunate to have worked for a number of companies across different industries. She was lucky enough to participate in great educational programs and drive innovative projects.
