Jim Lambert is a Senior Program Manager at Hitachi Vantara. After graduating from college with a BS in Physics, Jim became an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer working for a government and armed forces contractor. He worked on contracts for the Air Force and NASA. His next position was with Martin Marietta working on the Titan Rocket performing EMC analysis and test. He had a desire to go into the private sector and took a job with Burroughs in Southern California testing their Mid-Frame compute systems.

After working for various companies in the private sector, Jim was hired by Cisco Systems to obtain global quality certification of the EMC compliance lab. It was with this project that he picked up project management skills from. However, after the project he moved into people management but was also had the opportunity to use the project management skills.
