I grew up in the US, Central New York State, on the edge of Lake Ontario. It was idyllic, in a way, with the countryside that I still miss to this day. Even after spending most of my life in California, Northern New York State seems to be a hidden gem, that somehow has been missed by the maddening crowds and that is ok with most residents and with me, as I know that the natural beauty will be there, when I am drawn to return.
