He is recognized for his leadership roles at Cisco Systems and as the Founder & CEO of Strategic Leadership Advisory (SLA). His career spans IoT, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, energy, and digital transformation, where he has led large-scale initiatives and multi-billion-dollar business portfolios.
Education and Early Career
Willy earned an Ingénieur Commercial, equivalent to a Master’s in Business and Engineering, from ICHEC Brussels Management School in 1999, graduating with great distinction. He furthered his executive education with an Advanced Certificate in Energy from HEC Paris and a Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He began his career at Euroclear in Belgium as a Securities Manager before transitioning to consulting. At Accenture and later Eozen, he spent more than a decade leading large-scale SAP utility transformation programs as a Senior Program Manager. This experience gave him deep expertise in energy and utilities while laying the foundation for his later work in industrial IoT and digital transformation.
Leadership at Cisco Systems
Willy joined Cisco in the early 2010s as Customer Solution Manager & Engagement Leader for Connected Energy Networks in EMEA. He managed smart grid solutions, integrating network technologies with utility operations.
By 2017, he had advanced to Global Business Lead for the Oil & Gas vertical and Senior Manager for IoT Services. In this role, he drove industrial IoT strategies across the global energy sector and led digitalization initiatives across upstream and downstream operations. His work spanned strategy, operating model redesign, and digital innovation across EMEA and North America.
He later became Global Managing Director of CX Product Management for IoT and Enterprise Routing. In this executive role, he oversaw a multi-billion-dollar portfolio and led digital transformation programs across smart cities, utilities, and industrial cybersecurity.
Willy developed an OT security solution and led the launch of Cisco’s Global IoT Innovation Lab in Silicon Valley. He also led internal long-range IoT strategy, transformed service offerings, and helped accelerate the development and launch of new services.
His combination of business expertise and technical depth enabled him to lead complex initiatives across industries and connect technology development with business objectives.
