The Leadership of Dr. Caroline Power

A Leader Who Transforms Ecosystems

Transitioning from the corporate heights of GE Capital, BMO Financial Group, and EY, Dr. Caroline shifted her focus toward entrepreneurship, founding the CDNHR Group of Companies. She didn’t just start a training company; she built a national multi-brand ecosystem designed to help make workplaces better for all.

Through Sensitivity Training Canada, she has expanded a footprint into 14 cities, helping corporations and government bodies move beyond mere compliance toward true psychological safety. As the head of the Canadian HR Academy, she is preparing the next generation of HR leaders for the digital age, integrating Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity into the People and Culture toolkit.

Her ascent has been marked by a commitment to the highest levels of governance. Having served ten years on the National Board of CNIB and as Vice Chair for Credit Counselling Canada, Dr. Caroline’s leadership style is characterized by consistency. She understands that high-performing teams do not rise above their leadership; they reflect it.

As noted by colleague Don Schepens, Caroline is a “strong and dynamic woman who puts information forward in a way that is impossible to miss.”

A Legacy of Consistent Excellence

Today, Dr. Caroline is recognized as one of WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 and is listed among the 100 Most Accomplished Black Canadian Women. Her true impact is measured by the stability she brings to the organizations she touches.

When she enters an organization, she isn’t looking for a temporary spike in performance. She is looking for repeatability. Her work reduces the “internal friction” of second-guessing and replaces it with a noticeable calm under pressure.

Learners who have been under the tutelage of Dr. Caroline, whether in Canadian HR Academy, or in the broader, post-secondary system describe her as extremely knowledgeable, engaging… I feel beyond lucky to have taken this course.”

Beyond the classroom and the boardroom, Dr. Caroline’s impact is felt in her philanthropic contribution. She has established a lifetime endowed scholarship at the University of Toronto and a five-year bursary at Wilfrid Laurier University, ensuring that the doors of education remain open for those following in her footsteps.

Leading from the Inside Out

For Dr. Caroline, the future of leadership is as much about integrity as it is about strategy.

Her vision is to see a world where leaders develop and sustain congruency between who they are on the inside and what they show to the world on the outside. She holds true the idea that excellence is non-negotiable. Whether she is teaching MedTech scientific entrepreneurs or worling with corporate executives, her message remains clear: “take the long-view when developing your teams, not treat your employees as though you will be working with them for many years into the future. Do not treat your employees as though they are expendable. Cultivate deep professional relationships with your staff and that will pay you back in spades.”

By aligning internal beliefs with external execution, Dr. Caroline is helping leaders build legacies that are not only successful but sustainable, grounded, and profoundly meaningful.
