Holistic Pain & Trauma Warrior | CEO of Renew You Body Butters & World Record Holder | Helping you transmute adversity into a legacy of wellness through the power of restoration.
The journey of a true leader is often defined not by the heights they reach during times of ease, but by the resilience they demonstrate when the world as they know it falls away. For Kayshaun Brooks, that moment of reckoning arrived with a shattering physical injury and a profound personal betrayal. Today, she is known as a World Record Holder, the CEO of the award winning Renew You Body Butters, and a “Holistic Pain and Trauma Warrior.” Yet, her most significant professional empire was not built from a boardroom or a laboratory; it was architected from a bed where she was once told her body would never be the same.
Oakland Roots and a Legacy of Service
Kayshaun’s story begins in Oakland, California, a city that instilled in her a gritty resilience and a deep commitment to community. Growing up, she was surrounded by a lineage of healers. Her grandmother was a nurse, and her mother was a medical professional who balanced clinical knowledge with a passion for holistic wellness. These women were her first blueprints, showing her that care is not just a career but a way of existing in the world.
Inspired by this heritage, Kayshaun dedicated over 20 years to the medical field, eventually serving as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt within the California Correctional Health Care Services. This environment required a rare blend of clinical precision and emotional fortitude. She learned that healing was not a one-size-fits-all protocol. “Working with patients helped me understand that healing goes far beyond treating symptoms; it requires compassion, education, and empowerment,” she reflects. Little did she know that this professional philosophy would soon become her personal lifeline.
Transmuting Pain into a Global Movement
The turning point that would redefine Kayshaun’s life unfolded in stages, each more challenging than the last. A severe injury sustained while working at a prison in 2019 brought her medical career to an abrupt end. A year later, during therapy, she became chronically ill and bedridden, facing a reality where her body was no longer her own. As if this compounded loss wasn’t enough, her husband of over 20 years left, and her two youngest children stepped in as her full-time caregivers. It was a period of isolation that could have broken anyone, but Kayshaun chose to lean into the smallest ritual she had left: caring for her skin. Kayshaun shares:
“While confined to bed and suffering in pain, one of the only things I could consistently do for myself was care for my skin and find ways to reduce my pain naturally,”
This therapeutic grounding led to the official birth of Renew You Body Butters in 2018. However, her physical limitations meant she had to innovate. If she couldn’t walk the halls of industry, she would build digital bridges. She launched an affiliate marketing program from her bed, turning her need for connection into a business model that now spans 70 affiliates across the United States.
Her ascent was fueled by a refusal to let her “invisible” pain remain silent. She became a voice for the “EndoWarriors” and those living with chronic trauma. “A lot of medical professionals have a lot to learn about endometriosis. It’s more than a reproductive disease. It’s a full body disease,” she asserts. By merging her Lean Six Sigma background with plant-based alchemy, she created products that were not just “natural,” but scientifically effective for conditions like eczema and rosacea.
Healing the Root and the Community
Kayshaun’s impact is defined by her “Professional Pillars” of service, integrity, and impact. She believes that a business has a soul, and that soul is nurtured through community. This belief birthed “The Healing Lane: From Pain to Peace” and “The Healing Arts: A Community Day of Health.” These initiatives provide safe spaces for individuals to explore journaling, emotional wellness, and holistic practices that are often inaccessible in traditional medical settings.
“Healing is not just about treatment; it is about restoration and healing the root cause of the problem,” is the mantra that guides her decisions.
Her involvement as a member of ForbesBLK and her 2x Best-Selling Author status are merely the external markers of a much deeper success. Her true victory lies in the 4x award winning, green certified skincare line that she formulated to heal her family and now uses to heal the world. She has successfully moved from the clinical frontlines to the vanguard of the holistic revolution, proving that a “Warrior” is someone who finds power in their vulnerability.
A Legacy of Restoration
As she looks toward the future, Kayshaun is not slowing down. She is currently expanding her reach as the Chief Operating Officer of An Insightful Journey (AIJ) and preparing for the 2nd Annual of The Healing Arts: A Community Day of Health. Her goal is to move beyond the label of entrepreneur and into the role of a legacy-builder. She wants to mentor the next generation of beauty entrepreneurs, teaching them that their adversity is not a barrier, but a bridge to their purpose.
“My journey demonstrates that adversity can often lead to purpose. My vision is to continue expanding the conversation around self-care as a form of preventative health,” Kayshaun reflects.
Kayshaun Brooks has built a life that is a masterclass in restoration. She is the living embodiment of the idea that when the foundation is shaken, you don’t just rebuild the same house; you build a cathedral.
