I was fortunate to work with a passionate leader such as Amervis. With her eye for diligence and penchant for efficient and repeatable processes, Amervis exemplified her role at MGM Resorts PMO. She cultivated the values of correctness, responsiveness and professionalism that was required of every Project/Program Management professional. Her knowledge and guidance on project management tools and processes were unparalleled at the time when many others were still struggling to create an adequate governance in a functional organization. As a result, balanced communication and governance laid the foundation of process repeatability that impressed C suite, senior management, middle management and department stakeholders such that they were able to embrace Project Management methodologies with ease. 

I met Amervis in 2004 when I was a programmer at the Philadelphia Housing Authority and she was assigned to manage the projects associated with the product I owned. She has been an active sponsor throughout my career and always championed my efforts to learn more about project management as well as what I had to do to move into leadership positions. Amervis was always available to give me sound advice as I moved into a Business Analyst role at GMAC where she worked in 2005 and where I was promoted to Project Manager. After she left she continued to mentor me and encourage my career growth. Amervis genuinely cares about people and was thrilled for me when I was promoted to Director of Project Management. Even though we've lived on opposite coasts for over a decade, we have kept in touch over the years and always access each other's strengths to build up our courage to do more for ourselves and others. Our relationship has been invaluable to my success. She will help anyone that comes across her path who is willing to put in the hard work in order to grow.

Amervis is an accomplished leader who has a clear vision of how well managed process and program/project management positively contribute to the business. Amervis' confidence and focus were the key ingredients to the implementation of project governance that was widely accepted and benefited the entire organization. Amervis was able to toggle between the intricate details and the high level strategy necessary for success. And she was always available to provide individual support and coaching! It would be an absolute privledge to work with Amervis again.
