First of all, thanks for taking time out for this interview Sir. Can you briefly describe your earlier days as a child? Any memorable events that you would like to share?
Well, I wasn’t exactly a child but some experiences I had beginning at age 14 really set me on my career path today. Briefly, I started working in a formalwear store. Many times I watched as men who were dragged in by their fiancees to be fitted for their wedding suits emerged from the dressing room walking as if they had transformed into James Bond. These observations made me realize the power of products (such as apparel) to significantly influence people’s self-concepts. That insight, in turn, led me to embark on a research career that focuses on the relationships between consumers and the products they use to express themselves.
