I was a performer as a kid and traveled the world singing and dancing. At 12 I learned how to be a professional, how to please an audience/customer, always showing up prepared, on-time, and handling situations that inevitably go wrong. Theater and performance are great for building skills you’ll use in all parts of your life: communication, presentation, working in teams, cooperation, compromise, confidence… I’ve always liked to do a lot of things. Even in college I couldn’t settle on one, so I have a triple major of Literature, Journalism and Theater. Cross-functional thinking helps you discover new solutions and ways to do things, so liberal arts studies are important to help us see the world through different lenses.
Now I’m a writer (short stories, screenplays, teleplays, plays), designer (wristwatches, logos, books), and teacher, and everything feeds everything else.
